Steely Dan - Daddy Don't Live in that NYC No More

Now, I know what you're thinking - Steely Dan?  Really?  That was exactly my thought when I was going through my iPod looking for Cityfest candidates.  Only a fool, I thought, would attempt a Steely song.

The more I thought about it, though, I concluded that I was that fool.  That fool was me.  And to be honest unpicking the chords wasn't that difficult and there's no great keyboard parts to trip me up (I left out the one little part in the middle).  It's been fun recording this.  I even managed to include a key change.  It's also a bit less rough and ready than some of my recent posts.  I hope you enjoy

Great cover Nick, great guitars keys drums and a really good vocal performance. I was never a massive fan of SD but have fond memories of Haitian Divorce which always takes me back to my teenage christmas of 1976 - first aftershave, first french kiss and unrequited love! Ricky don't lose that number was another favourite. Getting all nostalgic! Back to your song, I really enjoyed it and I'm going back for another listen or two

Interestingly, the song I was meant to finish last night was a French language cover - Telex, Moskow Diskow.  Maybe that's next week.

I am a big Steely Dan fan. And their Katy Lied album was. Superb. This is a great rendition of "Daddy." It's a great song, and your cover is amazing. Nice key change by the way!
