Crowd Noise

Sometimes, I'd really like to add crowd noise effects to my recordings.  Cheers, whooping and hollering and such-like.  My recent Ramones cover for instance - I'd have liked to have had the roar of a wild crowd at the end.

Anyone ever come across anything like this?
Overdrive - Distortion - Hyperactivity
Yesterdays shatter, tomorrows don't matter

Do you know a song by The Smiths called 'Last night I dreamt that somebody loved me' ?
That has a lot of this kind of thing on, wonder if you could copy it somehow??

There is piano over some of it tho!..................EDIT...all over it actually probably no good.

You can type into google or some other search engine the sound you are looking for and you will find lots of samples.  I did that once for one of my Pirate fest songs, sounds of seagulls, waves, wind, and an angry crowd swordfighting...all different snippits of sound effects.  i just played the samples and recorded straight into my microBR and then used the sounds as I needed.  There are sites out there dedicated to providing sound samples for free and $$$ depending on how sophisticated you want to get.

Try some of the sites at the top of my Samples page. Findsounds.com might have the most.

You could also try copying audience sounds from various live albums.

Don't know why I didn't think of that...

I just did it and found (as you predicted) many good samples, free or paid.  Which then got me thinking of the fun you could have adding inappropriate applause at the end of a song.  A bit of polite applause after a pregnant pause at the end of a full-on rock number for example...
