Sounds great. The guitar sounds good and the vox is great. Seriously good sound on this one.

I don't much care for political songs. Most of them tell people how to think instead of getting people to think. And most of them come from a view point I generally disagree with. This story seems to be one from an occupier who is wanting to know where the whole thing is heading. It might not be pro, but it certainly isn't condemning anything. The socialism line is pretty damning, though. But yeah, still not a fan of political songs in general. But this sounds great.

I don't delve too deeply into song content. I look at meter, rhyme, melody, production, etc.

Politics is a social construct. No precedent for it in nature. Like straight lines. Man-made.
So I see no reason to assign any great importance to it. The people that created it are all dead.
Everyone currently involved in it is just carrying on a pointless tradition that helps them line their
own pockets and get their names in the history books. Even the books are soon forgotten.

Good music is remembered forever. Stands on its own merits.

Still a beautiful song.

I ran across this again while looking for something else. I haven't heard this song since it was posted 11 years ago. I had no idea I would be living in Madagascar a few years down the road.

The late David Graeber did his anthropological field work in Madagascar before going on to be a prominent scholar, author, and leader in the Occupy movement. He died in 2020.

One day four years ago, I was near the town where he did his field work and I found on the ground a Croc shoe with some cow shit in it. I took a photo, and posted it on Twitter with the caption, "Croc of Shit." And I tagged Graeber. To my surprise, he replied. I exchanged a few messages with a famous scholar and activist – about a poop joke. He even wrote a bit in the Malagasy language.

I missed this song.
It's a great piece of storytelling.
We can be social sponges we songcrafters.
I've been told recently I'm very observant, sucking thing in as I see them.
So observant about my surroundings  unfortunately I miss conversations from my wife lol.
A very peaceful relaxing song.

I enjoyed this song a lot for the song it is, not for political views it may lead you to. Excellent guitar work.   Willie

Timeless music, Hook. Got a great Harry Chapin / Townes Van Zandt folk feel on the guitar. Really works with just guitar and voice. Gorgeous!
