I've just bought a cheap mandolin. It had a bit of a battle with my ukulele in this tune..  A bit ropey, but it retains that drunken saturday night feel...

Absolutely wonderful.  Recorded really well also.

Now thats ho to play a mandolin.  Lovely stuff.  I bought a mandolin a few years ago, played it a lot for most of that summer, and sadly it sits in the corner of my room neglected.  You can really play the thing.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

That's absolutely ridiculous.  At least the one I abaondoned is mounted on a wall.

Sheesh...some people.

Came back for another listen.

Excellent.

Thanks! I've just ordered a bluegrass mandolin book and looking forward to doing a bit more.

Thanks for asking about the book 'O bonce of decomposition', apparently it is selling really well and keeps going out of stock! But at 5% royalty through Hal Leonard sales, I'd have to sell half a million copies to make a bit more than beer money. 60,000 copies gets me £3000. I'm not giving up the day job.

very nice playing! Really enjoyed this, and looking forward to hearing more! I always fancied playing uke or a mandolin, not sure I can get it past the wife without her noticing! Any tips most welcome...sitting (seemingly) neglected in a corner might work if I can cover it!

Thanks so much for bumping it. I'd forgotten I'd done that....

My favourite instrument at the moment is the oud - also the one that I'm the worst at! Such a different, almost alien music to anything in the west. If there are any oud or lute players out there - please get in touch and/or post some music...

Cheers!
