As part of my ongoing mission to explore strange new record those songs that were never set down at the time they were written, here's another one.
Song written November 1985, gigged many times but never recorded, I have tried to get the drums close....! No guitar solo either. It's about failed love, but there is hope....

Recorded to Sonar via EMU1616, Les Paul (3 tracks), Ibanez bass (I looked at the headstock for the first time in years last week and realised it's not Yamaha), Rode NT1 for 1 vox track

Enjoy  ;)

Lyrics:

Whipser sweetly let the fire burn
Though my heart is weeping...you will return

Can't somebody read this heart of mine?
You're just too busy living you haven't got the time
Hey mister do you see the light?
Too proud for a guide, too blind to receive sight

I wander these streets alone, a stranger in my own home

Was love just a liar laughing at my side?
Was the language she used just a trick of my mind?
You strike out for freedom like a stab in the back
Your smile's so sweet but your heart is black

If I lied to myself would I fade away?
But in this darkness I need the truth today
Draw your sword and prepare for the fight
Your tongue is so sharp but I wear armour of light

Love has conquered this heart of mine
Has finally remembered that your smile was no crime
Take my hand and take my name
Hear the words that will release all your pain

I wander these streets alone, a starnger in my own home
