This simple ditty evolved from a drum track I made with my DR880
Then I brought it into Sonar X1 Studio as my first learning experiment.
I added a funky strat and some acoustic riffs
Then vox using the BR800 harmonizer on the chorus.
I felt proud that I was able to bring it in, cut and paste, apply some fx, and export it out of Sonar X1.
I learned lots. I'm very happy with Sonar so far.
But I'm now WAY too close to it to hear what it needs. so
Let me know. (padding? solo?)
 verse 1
There's a rich man at the door
telling me he wants more
he's on his cell as I explain
I'm standing naked in the rain.

His lawyers letters in the mail
telling me I'm bound to fail.
a swindler who explains
I'll soon be naked in the rain

Chorus
There's a doctor in my life
telling me I won't survive
Gives me something for the pain
I'm standing naked in the rain

verse 2
I built this house as a child
with a chainsaw and a file
now it's groaning in the wind.
and the water's coming in.

Chorus
There's a doctor in my life
telling me I won't survive
Give me something for the pain
For standing naked in the rain

verse 3
Living in some cheap motel
All in all I'm doing well
But everyone complains of
Standing naked in the rain

Chorus
There's a doctor in my life
telling me I won't survive
Give me something for the pain
For standing naked in the rain

Very impressive song construction, Glenn! I love the story with the lyrics and the cool vocals and melodies that surround them.

Oooh yes... This is off the hook badassedness... I kinda thought you channled Billy G for the vox. This production really blows my mind. Such clarity and separation of all instruments makes this such a great listen...well done bro.

Cool drums n bass which make it a funky, enjoyable ride (all the way)
