Hi all,

I am reading Keith Richards' book and I ask myself some questions about its tuning.

Do have the other guitarist (M. Taylor or R. Wood) the same tuning ?
In general, is it "possible" that two guitars (on the same track) have different tuning ?

Yes two guitars, playing together, can have different tunings......as long as they are both playing in the same key. Their hand positions would be at different spots on the neck but they would still need to be playing in the same key.

They would also should be tuned to a standard, like A440. I suppose they could be both tuned in between a sharp and a flat but they would need to be the same. If one guitar is tuned to an open G and the second guitar is in a standard tuning, the second guitar would just play a G chord and follow any chord progression changes.

I guess there might some exceptions with some of the more odd tunings but I think it would still work.

I hope this helps some to answer your question. I'm sure others here will have more input and might be able to explain it better.
