Can any body help?

I have a 55SH Series II which I am trying to use with my Micro BR recorder but it doesn't seem to work; I only get about 10% of the volume coming through. I don't have the same problem with other microphones. I am not a pro and may be missing something obvious, but if anyone can advise me I would be very grateful!
