Hi all, another day off put to good use (I think). Back to story telling and this is a song about a guy we used to knock around with when we were starting out with the band. We used to smoke a little but nothing major happened until Johnny dropped a tab and thought he could fly. We all cheered when he said he would, never imagining for one moment that he would actually do it and the guilt stuck for a long time. He lived but broke his back and never walked again but I sometimes think he still dreams of those few moments when he flew like a bird......Willie

A sad story Willie but you tell it well......that's the real appeal here....I'm drawn into the song by the words. The strings in the background create the perfect atmosphere for this sad tale. I like the tasty guitar solo and fills....real nice.............

Great song... great lyrics... Such a pleasure to listen too. In my military youth there was a kid that did the same thing on alcohol... landed on a roof of a gazeebo below the baracks from the 3rd floor... he was OK other than a few broken bones... this song reminded me of that night.
