ok we all know the song, but a bit about me. ive been in bands in 70's, 80's 90's. went through all too many rough times (havent we all) and somehow managed to survive it all.
last yr i decided to get involved doing my own music for the first time, force myself and am forging onward.
please consider i havent played bass and guitar for about 20 yrs and im just working into getting my fingers into it better. the mind knows what to do, it just the fingers need more practice.
i am currently a drummer, i never played keys (not up until like late 2010) i cannot read nor write music, but i can write, compose, arrange, in my head - ouch!  i do the singing having never been a singer nor ever singing very much. add to this i had no clue on mixing anything, got audacity and have been slowly learning though i am just a novice at this and it will show but i have improoved.
all in all, some of my talents are out of shape, but i'm working on it. gonna be mistakes in timinig and notes, beats here and there, especially cause i dont want to waste too much time on any one song and move on to the next. lots of work but fun as hell.
this is my first cover after doing about 17 original songs since last yr, which i will post later.
spooky 1968 by classics 4 .... i always dedicate this song to all the spooky little girls out there, and also for halloween.

Welcome, I am a recent joiner as well, but I have to say that as a first post, playing everything including the drums (which I could never and will never be able to do!) I think this is a bloody good start...well done!
Never used Audacity so no idea what it's like but I am impressed with the drum and bass, if that is you rusty I look forward to great things! And you picked a pretty hard song to sing!

very cool, keep it up

thanks, i used to play bass in 70's, 90's, guitar in the 80's, early 90's, in bands, and just jamming with people. as i said before its not gone in my head it just will take time for my fingers to catch up with my brain, on guitar amostly, and then bass.
i seem to have a very good ear and thats what i go by. i also write lyrics poems, since like 74. thanks for listening

I love this cover!
Probably the best cover of this classic that I've heard!

thanks, i knew i was not gonna duplicate the excellent sax solo, so i tried to get some raspiness on the guitar using a guitar pedal i had. turned out better than i thought i got that solo in take 2, and said screw it, its good enough, i might wind up making worser takes if i do any more. the whole song is a total of 18 tracks

liking the sound of this I heard it over on Brian's page and thought I'd commented but maybe not, however great cover and welcome....
