Don't know Frank Black but I've heard Geir talk of him so he must be good.

Either way, this is very well done Burtog. I love your voice man.
Has a punky feel to it, with pop overtones.

I might just have to check out this Frank Black fellow...
It ain't pretty being easy.

Okay to Cover

Geir

This is really excellent Burtog !!!

Love the vocals !

I actuallly hadn't heard of FB until I joined here either, but he's defo worth checking out.

I might do another Black tune ( did "I burn today" with launched some months ago ), but trying to wrap up a new original right now so I might not get it done in time for the fest

I missed this one.

This song is powerful. The guitar carries a driving rhythm throughout and the vocal is compelling
and hypnotic.

The only thing I would recommend experimenting with is widening the stereo field more on the vocal track.

Thanks for a nice one!

Yeah, I know what you mean, I've only recorded the vox in mono, think I might try recording to a stereo track next time and see if I can get a bigger vocal sound. ;)

I use two methods for enhancing a vocal track.

I like to harmonize with myself, usually during a chorus.

To enhance a complete vocal track I make a duplicate of the vocal track then
offset it by 40 to 50 milliseconds from the original track.

The cover I did of Honky Tonk Women is an example of this technique.

Also, widening the stereo field on each track, by differing amounts, produces nice effects.

Actually, you don't need to record the vocal track again. Just load the existing track into your editing software then save it again as a stereo track. Widen the stereo field before saving.

Now duplicate that track and offset it by 40 to 50 milliseconds with regard to the original vocal track.
Play them all back together. The sound will be quite nice.
