Only just joined the forum, so Hi!
There's some GREAT stuff on here. I was wondering, seeing as I don't play that well ( but hoping to get a bit better) if anyone fancies working the other way round. I do the lyrics and then someone put the music to them? Would it be best to post them on here or e mail them?
Cheers.

Welcome Stevie! What you suggest has been done.  Usually the song writer will submit the song with enough music to at least get the idea, then everyone goes from there with a backing track either from multi players or someone does it all.

The singer then DLs the backing track and either re-records the vocals or possibly uses the original vocal track if the song hasn't changed.

Here's a link to such a song example:

After getting bounced back and forth via email and postings, it ended up here:

If you follow along with the revisions, you'll get the idea how this works.

I've got one waiting for a singer myself here:

Once I finish the lyrics I will post it over in this section.

You should post what you have or at least maybe let us know what type, style, and arrangement you need musically and see who will be interested.  You can always trade tracks via email once you make a connection.  ;D

Thanks Ken, that'll teach me to scan through threads and things first :D
There's some real talent on here.
I like the instrumental version you posted. Got the tag yet? If not do you want to e mail or PM me with what you've got so far? Don't know if it'll help at all but I could have a look?

When I've got the courage I may post some bits. I've got one that was done collaborating with someone, but I didn't do any of the music.
I've got to admit, I don't play too well, and I can't spend as much time on music as I'd like, but, hopefully, getting the BR and being on here will give me the kick I need to do more!!!!

What's the position on copyright if things are posted, then worked on by one or more people?
Cheers.

Go ahead and post your stuff Stevie, you dont need to be a virtuoso, just enjoy it!! If you have a rough scetch for a song the loads of ppl here will join in.

StevieM

OK, I will ( as soon as I can work out how to do that :)).
The only thing I've got at the moment is something where I did the lyrics, but not any of the music or vocals. Is that still ok?

You can anything and everything on here, no matter how much or little you start with. It's the real heart and beauty of this forum that so many talented (and different) musicians gather in one place. And the BR's ability to import and export mp3's just makes the whole process really easy - no matter where in the world you are.

StevieM

Thanks Greeny, I already have. It's the 'first time' thread.
It's quite scary putting the first one on here for everyone to see, especially seeing (and hearing) some of the great stuff that's been done.
Cheers.
