Blooby, I had a Melody Maker many years back down the trail. I tried to like it, for one summer, then got rid of it.

A hard tailpiece/bridge combination that was impossible to get anywhere near concert pitch, and those
worthless junk Kluson tuners. This guitar was more useful as a wooden snow shovel.
Also good for removing pizzas from the oven.

To give it its due, in the early days none of the Gibson guitars could be properly intonated.
Playing at concert pitch was apparently not a prime concern at the Gibson factory.
The two E strings could be tuned but the four inside strings were just there. Good luck with that.

To this day I wonder why so many guitarists spent time and money to acquire guitars that would not
play in tune. Fender had a better idea from day one.
