I Can't Believe It

This is a simple tale of parting.  I wrote it when my step-son was going off to college (he's 33 now), but it felt like a story of love and friendship lost between a guy and a gal.  My words went a different direction then, but the message is still about that empty feeling.  I couldn't get anyone else to sing it, couldn't disguise my "singing" voice so I did it myself. I used loops and samples  since I can't play any instruments except the mouse and the monitor, lol.  Hope it clicks for you. Vic

For someone that can't play it was very well put together. Well done............Willie

This is loaded up with jarring contradictions in sound. It's chaotic, The random samples which were never meant to coexist, somehow fit. I've listened 3 times already, and I can't stop hitting the play button.  I hope the danced and kissed part wasn't written with your step-son in mind. I'm off for my 4th listen now. I love it.

Yea I agree with Willie, it flows very well. Strange and compelling, it's a win/win!

wow! And here I thought nobody liked it. I was crushed.  I'm so ignorant of difference in styles and genres.  I can't make a true genre, I have to find a complementary sound or instrument and it is often a sample of a loop.  Thanks for your reviews and encouragements.  I think you're ready for the next evolution of my style (?).

henwrench

Up there with the maddest old henwrench has heard. Really, really good stuff. Love the vocal, it brings the whole thing home. A bit like a collaboration between Daniel Johnston, Captain Beefheart and Ry Cooder with Yoko Ono handling production duties. Fresh, inventive and very, very real.

Holy sh*t this is the bomb! There are so many people out there that try to make a go of the method you used and can't even touch this. Hell, I've even tried and fallen short - I'm too left handed I guess...

I'm a fan, Vic - Get some more out. You are so close to being "there" it's not even funny.

Peace,

Mark
