It's funny but Reg doesn't feel the same when he goes back to his old hometown....He feels a bit of a stranger not just to the folks but to himself it's like he doesn't recognise his old self anymore ..........so Reg discussed this over with Elvis and E climbed on this one to explore Regs problem...........

STRANGER TO MY OLD HOMETOWN (Lyrics)

It's Friday night i've been paid i'm going out
I think i'm going back to where i started out
I'm going back to my old hometown
to see who I recognize a knocking around

I feel a Stranger, in this here town

I get to the bar and I open the door
and It's just like it's the day before
There still sat in the same old seats
With the same divisions and the same old speak

I feel a Stranger, in this here town
I'm a stranger to my old home town

Well,You hope that the old hometowns just the same
But it's sad to find out nothing has changed
Time seems to sit still in their minds
The same old stories, the same old mime

I feel a Stranger, in this here town
I'm a stranger, to my old home town

It's all repeat, yeah! it's a bit of a bore,
They don't  leave, they don't go anywhere to go an explore
Same time same place its so secure
They have lost that need to live and explore

I feel a stranger here

Is it them or is it me or is just stranger to me
have i become a stranger to the old me
They sit and talk it sounds all rehearsed
Day in day out living life in reverse

I'm a stranger here
A stranger in too my old hometown

Im a stranger here
A stranger in too my old hometown

I enjoyed this one Reg, tho not completely convinced Elvis/crooning gets the best out of your vocals (thinking of Let it Burn - which are oustanding), being/feeling a stranger in your home town struck a chord with me...
Nice song

Man, there's a hell of a swing on this. Off-kilter and all the bettter for it. So cool!

Agreed. But the more one delves into the world of thetworegs, the more they all seem like classics.

This hits the nail on the head lyrically. I used to play clubs where everybody had the same table every week, the same drink, the same conversations and a fight with their mates at the end of the night. You've obviously been there. Love the track.............Willie

Dear Mr. thetworegs,

I write on regard of the song above. I find it extremely well produced, great lyrics, and generally speaking, a great song. I can't help to add, also regarding you other songs, that you scare me shitless - you must be a complete psycho!  ;D ;D ;D

Just kidding, I really like your songs and your sense of humour!
