"Welcome To Ghost Town"

I've been thinking about how fortunate I've been to find this place
where I've been overwhelmed with so much support from so many
and all that have collaborated and helped me to create new songs ... thank you all.

I sent this music entitled "Ghost Town" to Jim in which part of his reply was:

"don't think I'll go with the ghost idea, but it does have a gothic feel"

That's cool ... 45 minutes later ...

" song in your email now called welcome to ghost town is about teenagers
growing up going through the goth phase before finding themselves"

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Jim, a sincere thanks once again.

Kenny B.

Hope you like it ... constructive criticism welcome.

silent words
reverberate

lost
alone
welcome to ghost town

outside the mainstream
in uniform
all colour drained
all senses dulled
a raggle taggle
devoid of faith
searching for meaning
there's no escape

lost
alone
welcome to ghost town

identity
to find one's self
no different
from anyone else
a stepping stone
to who you'll be
a learning process
through experience

lost
alone
welcome to ghost town

maybe one day
you will stand out
from the crowd
an individual
certain
and self assured
aware
of who you are

it's time to leave ghost town

welcome to ghost town

Good lord man......men........gents......fantastic song.  Crystal clear production, those guitar lines pop right out of the speaker.  Ghostly vocal from the man.  This is exactly what I love about this site, spontaneous collabs like this, that turn out to be total winner songs.  You are quite the multi-instrumentalist-musician-producer-arranger there Kenny.  You've quite the ear.  Jim is marvelous as Jim is........well..........marvelous.  Good one guys.

Loved those spiky / glassy notes on the intro, and then... man - it really took off. Excellent 'mystery' on the vocals, and the whole vibe is superb. There's very little constructive criticism I can give, because the whole thing is beautifully performed and produced. So clear and precise. 'It's time to leave ghost town'... what a finish! This is excellent, boys.

I find it very interesting ... seems that music have found the perfect lyric/vocals. The feeling of the music and the feeling of being lost is one and the same... of course it is my opinion, but more and more the lyric goes on , the more you are inside the 'ghost town', the more you are lost, so I would have expected a crescendo or somewhat growing. However both music and lyrics are excellent, and the idea of being a 'ghost' teenager is strong and true (... if you were like me a teenager in the 80' you probably remember the 'dark' looking teens ;-)

Wow, this is really well done. That driving arpeggio on the guitar is awesome and the lyrics just fit so very well! The mix is outstanding such a good production! I was a Cure/Smiths fan in Richmond VA (late 80's), We we're called Euro-pop fags by the hip scene, I was never goth but many of my friends were and this is just such a great, well told/sung picture of a part of my life, bravo!
Rock on!

Great tones on guitar and great vocal part by Jim! 45 minutes...? It is average time by Jim (writing lyrics, recording and get the children from school :D :D ... )

I got also gothic feel from the 80's. Well done gents!
