This Monday thing is is becoming a habit, lol.

12 string acoustic, Hofner verythin, Danelectro Hornet, & Fender P-Bass. All the music is done on the MBR, but I added some fx and a sample at at the start via Audacity. Some older songcrafters (and probably only the Brits...) will recognise the opening sample from the old 'Milk Tray' adverts.

Lyrics...

Sailing up the Swanee
With a bent and rain-soaked cigarette
Trying to ignore the other passengers
And showing the captain no respect

My heart was buried in the twilight
With the lid nailed down
Weeping with the drunk and melancholic clowns

Then I opened up the box and found the brightest star
Yeah that's what you are – the brightest star

An umbrella ripped inside out
Goes blowing down the street
I'm hands in pockets as the rain comes down
Too full of undone things to sleep

My heart was buried in the twilight
With the lid nailed down
Weeping with the drunk and melancholic clowns

Then I opened up the box and found the brightest star
Yeah that's what you are – the brightest star

gorgeous playing and great song, good good monday opening ;-). When I heard your last one - that 'killer' song of low-rent englishman - one other phrase did keep whispering in my ear, didnt know why .... lifting the mask of a local clown, feeling down like him ...  and now I find the clown here and I know why. Good song, good lyrics!
