Hi!

A year ago, I got an idea for a song; what about if in one morning I would wake up as a little boy, again! I wrote this song for a different compositon. The original aim was to come in with Psych Fest with these lyrics, but here we are... on Live on LivingRoom-fest :) . This is flashback from my childhood...

I recorded this at my cabin on BR-80. I used Progressive effect; "Tokyo Dreamland" that I didn't edited. The guitar is cheap classical gtr from the year 1977... a bit like Jim's Ikea gtr, I suppose...  ;)

This is partially autobiographical... Batman and Skippy kangaroo were my favs on TV... I remember the smell of car wax... the dusty roads towards grand mother...

Special thanks to Geoff (j.g.) who helped me in translation!...And thanks for your listening!

Kari

1968 (Sun Dream)

In this morning when I woke up
I was a little boy again
I remember this old dusty road
I remember green meadows

I can feel the sand under my toes

I hear an approaching car
It's daddy's brand new Ford Cortina
It's 1968 again, it's 1968 my friend

Chorus:

This can't be true
This can't be a dream
This can't be true
It's sun dream, sun dream

Daddy stops his car
Hey, it is car wax that smells in my nose!
Daddy takes me home
There's Batman and Robin on TV
...there comes Skippy Kangaroo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chorus:

This can't be true
This can't be a dream
This can't be true
It's sun dream, it's sun dream

There's a "Geir"esque quality to this song Kari! I absolutely loved the vocals, lyrics and delivery. The guitar work was fantastic in my mind, and the song construction was beautiful. I loved it from start to finish.

Santa called and said he'd consider it if you'd quit writing him letters with your pink pencil and invisible ink.
