eBand Song List Editor Ver.1.01 for Mac

http://www.roland.com/products/en/_support/dld.cfm?PRODUCT=BR%2D80&iRcId=62152133&dsp=1

Export now working fine in OSX 10.5.8
Disconnect BR 80 while installing.
I had a bit of trouble first time but solved by removing old version prior to install.

Hello,

Up and 'til now the only thing I get is, "The Unit Not Found". Meaning the program di'nt find my BR 80.
Is there something that I did wrong? The recorder is found in my computer that can't be the problem.
I don't know what to do. Please I need help here!
Thanks!

Ben.

Make sure you select 'storage' in USB MODE and restart the BR80.
Then connect to computer.
Then open eBand Song List Editor.

Thanks for your answer Simont, but that's excactly what I did. I re-installed several times but still the same thing, The Unit Not Found. I understand that the program Does'nt "see" the Br althougt it is in my computer as a removable disk. On my BR screen I see USB STORAGE and a picture from a computer and the BR with above it the word IDLING. Then I try to open the Song List Editor with the result as described above. I have also tryed from a various Roland sites to download different
eBand Song List Editors. They all seem to have the same problem. I don't know what to do nex?

The eBand Song List Editor only looks for an attached BR-80 once on startup. It does not continue to check for a newly-attached BR-80 when the program is running. Therefore, it can only find your BR-80 if it's already connected and recognized by your computer before you start the program.

Try exiting the eBand Song List Editor, then make sure your BR-80 is connected and in STORAGE mode (see page 104 of the BR-80 manual) and restart the program.

I found the solution! Althougt the BR was as I bought it there was obviously something wrong with the firmware. I reinstalled versie 1.04 and the problem was solved! Thanks again Simont!

I go a BR-80 today and it has this problem - but easy to solve.

You need both the 1.4 firmware and eBand Song List editor v 1.01

http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=1167  and click the downloads tab

Power on your BR-80 - the startup screen shows firmware version. If not 1.4 download new firmware from Roland website and install (pdf in download with instructions - easy to do)

Download eBand Song List editor from Roland website. Latest version has a fix that corrects the failed export issue. Uninstall previous version and install new version.

The BR-80 is a great device, but unfortunately the Song List Editor software doesn't recognize my BR-80 on my PC (Windows7 64bit) and on my laptop (Windows XP Prof.) - "The Unit not found".

I've had enough now, I spent hours with all combinations (Firmware 1.04, 1.05, 1.06 with Tracks Editor 1.0 and 1.01), and yes, I hadn't the software started until the BR-80 showed up an external drive in explorer.

Surfing in all possible internet forums has brought nothing. Does anybody know how to work around this bug? And why this software is so *****?? I can't import my play-along MP3 files... any solution?

Lots of BR-80 users are using the Song List Editor program without any problems, so there must be something unique about your situation. Let's try to find out what it is, shall we?

You said that you made sure the BR-80 showed up as an external drive in Windows Explorer. That's good. But could you browse the files and folders on that drive in Windows Explorer? You should see a folder named "ROLAND". Inside the "ROLAND" folder, you should see folders named "BR0", "JS", "LIVEREC", "MASTERING" and "SMF". The "JS" folder is especially important since it contains the data for eBand mode. Inside the "JS" folder, you should see the folders "DB", "PRESET" and "USER". The "DB" folder is especially important. If it is missing or misnamed, you will get the error "The unit not found." Inside the "DB" folder, you should see the following files:

  • PLAYLIST.J8D
  • SL_ALBUM.J8D
  • SL_ARTST.J8D
  • SL_BEST.J8D
  • SL_MYSNG.J8D
  • SL_RHYTM.J8D
  • SONGNAME.J8D

Do you see all of those folders and files? If not, is it possible that you've initialzed (formatted) your BR-80's memory card and not restored the "JS" folder from a backup? If that's the case and you don't have a backup containing the "JS" folder, you can download all of the files and folders that ship with the BR-80 here:
