I'm hoping this counts for Frank Black, I know he was Black Francis at the time but it's still the same guy.
Rock on!

Right next to my mashed potatoes.

Great job playing and singing a fine song!  A clean production but rough enough to have some edge.  ;)

Don't know much about Frank Black... I might have guessed (wrong) that this song began life with Tom Petty.    :D

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Thanks for the kind words, glad you liked it.

I record all my guitar parts on my Dean Exotica acoustic. The basic song is live with my mxl 991 a little north of the sound hole and my 900 about a foot and a half away slightly below my chin (I was sittin'), no effects. The arpeggio part was the jc clean(001) setting & the leads were the ambient(008) setting on the br900. 2nd vocal also recorded clean then added chorus and reverb to both vocal parts and a little reverb on the clean rhythm guitar.
Used the mix down setting to master.

Yea, it was the Pixies off their Doolittle album. He was Black Francis back then, not sure if he took the old name for the reunion last year?
Thanks for listening, it was fun to record!
