Turning Off Flashing Rec Light?

Hello,

I searched the manual extensively, however I have been unable to locate the instructions for turning off the "REC" flashing on an individual track.

If someone knows if this is possible, please explain it or let me know the page number in the manual.  Thank you.

I find the Micro BR very easy to understand and use, though I am still getting used to it as I just bought a few days ago.  I come from many years of using my PXR4, which I love and am very affectionate about. . . however, the Micro BR has some features, and well, she's just too cute of a dolly to resist!

So I say hello to all here, and I shall get back to the learning curve.  I hope to post an informative review in the future, comparing the Micro BR & PXR4.

Sincerely,

WhiteRam

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you re: your question as I just ordered my MBR today.  I would like to welcome you to the forum, however.  My brief experience here has been very positive.  If anyone knows the answer, I'm sure they will get it to you!  Good luck!

Tim
Cheers!

I don't have a Micro BR, but I believe that the "REC" indicator only shows after you've pressed the Record button. It indicates which track is armed (ready for recording). You can choose a different track by simply pressing the corresponding [TRx] button. Recording will begin on the selected track when you press the Play button. Or, you can cancel recording by pressing the Record button again to return to play mode.

When the Micro BR is in record mode (ie; you've pressed the Record button), there's no way to turn the flashing "REC" indicator off. What would be the point? If no tracks are armed, nothing would be recorded, which defeats the purpose of record mode.

You can also just press stop or exit to get out of rec mode if that's what you're asking.

Thanks guys,

I'm not having any trouble with the MBR at all.  It's just I was hoping there was a way to turn-off the flashing REC of a single track or pair, when not armed to record.  Pressing the track button(s) does not shut it (them) off, and when you power the unit back up the last track that was flashing still is.

It's not in the owner's manual, however this does not bother me so much, I just thought someone may have figured out a way to accomplish this, the unit is obviously designed this way.

I will say this unit is much easier to operate than the manual makes it out to be.  Yes one needs the manual to reference, but after executing any program it's like 'WoW' how easy and user friendly designed!

Also, as a performing/songwriter I bought the MBR excited about the feature utilizing the guitar input along with the built in Mic.  I was a bit reluctant to get too excited, as the Mic goes to the same track as the guitar without any available processing to the Mic, and both are recorded on the same track. . . however, WoW again, even in a small bedroom setting, this feature works great to get an idea where one's song is going.  I can tell in a bigger room one could create an acceptable/enjoyable recording, even though it's a mono track.

Thanks again for the replies,

WR

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood.  You mean the indicator that blinks indicating which track is preselected to BE recorded.  I thought you ment the light after hitting record.... :-[

Yea, that's always on.  Actually a good thing if you hurriedly hit record and forgot you were on the wrong track and overwrote something by mistake.  :o

A quick glance at it could save the day!
