This was something John and I did a couple weeks back. The second guitar (when present) is courtesy of a loop pedal. The first loop (chords for the chorus) I loaded up immediately before starting the song (Does this preclude me from getting my membership card into the fest?). The second loop (main chord theme) was done on the fly for the solo outro. It was performed "live" as we will at our next open mic.

I hope this is the year we start playing out. We have been experimenting with the loop pedal to try and break up the (potential) set a bit with some soloing.

Very nice indeed guys , great sound , don't know the song , but that makes it more fun sometimes , love the vocals as always , gets my vote for live

I'm not going to be too picky at this early stage of the festival. But I hope that, going forward, people will resist the temptation to use any sort of technology to add parts to their LitLR songs. That technology includes loopers, sequencers, midi files, backing tracks, drum machines, auto bass, auto chords, and, of course, recorders.

Recordings for the LitLR fest should only include whatever you can actually play and sing while the recording is taking place. Of course, if you want to strap a harmonica around your neck à la Bob Dylan or Neil Young, play a bass drum with your foot à la Peter Gabriel, strap some cymbals to your knees and strum your guitar while singing, that's perfectly okay, as long as it's all played simultaneously while recording. The other way to get more parts without resorting to technology is to call in some friends to help out. As long as you all play together as a band and record your performance live in the living room (or any room of the house), that's fine.

I don't mean to take away from your beautiful recording, Blooby.  I just wanted to clarify what the Live in the Living Room fest is about so that everyone will know what's expected going forward.

Oh my. One of my absolutely favourite songs! And you play / perform it soooo beautifully. It actually gave me goosebumps. This one is stellar, Blooby! And as always, it sounds so natural and effortless.

Great playing and singing this song, an old favorite. A concert-worthy live performance.

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Nice job, I love this tune and you did a great job!
I do have to make a point with the looper... I use a Boss RC-20 when I gig out and I consider the looping I do live as opposed to pre-made tracks. All of my loops are done live on the spot and erased for the next tune. So with that being said If I set up my PA in the living room, hooked up my looper, I could hit record on my 900 and loop out rhythm guitar, add some percussion, do some lead lines and tack some harmony vocals off at the end and technically not tracked out anything before I hit stop. I'm certainly not trying to turn this thread into a rant but I love my loop station!
Great job!
Rock on!
