I spendt hours trying to find the right sound, tweaking patches and trying differnt guitars .....

ended up with two harmony-parts and one manic whammy & wah spiced lead .....

I probably should have gotten the separate track from james before mastering ....

well here it is anyway :

Whammy frenzy!  Brilliant.

I take it that is a Digitech whammy pedal together with a whammy bar?  I'm also guessing it was a locking trem to cope with that much abuse!   ;) ;)

Good stuff chaps.

What effects did you end up using? Is that the BR-800's pitch shifter effect controlled by an expression pedal, or did you use a separate whammy pedal such as the Digitech? How did you get that tone? It's awesome.

I did use my digitech whammy (with 1oct up selected for range) + my bad horsie II wah on the center lead. the two "harmony" parts where only with the br800. For all three parts I used the guitar preset "P13 80s solo". I tweaked it a bit for the main lead, turning off the distortion and the chorus and using panned delay recording to a stereo-track. for all the guitar-tracks I added some reverb, selecting the "modulate" and setting reverb-time to 3.2s (my favourite reverb settings on the br800 :) ) most of the main lead is played with the whammy pedal floored waggling it for effect and on a couple of places "playing notes" with it . I have more control with a whammybar, and probably should have used my other Ibanez so I could compensate for lack of foot control ;D

I would like to get (or build) a foot-controller for my 800 tho, to experiment with the patches a bit more. Don't know if it can control the pitch tho. hmmmm .. I'll have to check that out ....... now where's the manual ??? ... ....

cheers

The expression pedal can be used as a Volume Pedal, Wah, or Pitch Shifter pedal. I've done it with my BR-864 and an EV-5 and it works well.

If you want to build one, there's a schematic for the EV-5 here:

Also in that message are some suggestions for buying a cheaper expression pedal, though the prices seem to have gone up since it was posted.

Great song guys, love the vocals and lyrics with way-cool guitar whammy antics !!  The guitar had a cool Steve Vai vibe going on!
