Losing arrangements

I'm having a problem with arrangements.  I make an arrangement on the S01 EMPTY rhythm track.  I name it.  It stays up while I'm using it and if I switch off after using it, it comes up again when I switch back on.  But If I move to another arrangement and then come back to S01, it has gone back to being empty and my arrangement is lost.  I look for some kind of button to save the arrangement but the manual only tells me how to name it and not how to save it.  Wise minds?  What am I doing wrong?

You can save your arrangements and other BR settings by holding down the STOP button and pressing the RECORD button (see page 60 of the Micro BR manual). But this shouldn't be necessary as arrangements are saved automatically when you switch screens.

QuoteBut If I move to another arrangement and then come back to S01, it has gone back to being empty and my arrangement is lost.

Are you sure you're not switching to a different song? Arrangements are unique for each song. So, if you create an arrangement and name it, it should still be there whenever you load that song. But, if you switch to a different song, the arrangements will be whatever was saved in that song. If you haven't yet edited the arrangements for that song, then they will be named "EMPTY001" through "EMPTY005".

That's all I can think of at the moment. If it doesn't answer your question, experiment with arrangements a bit more, then post some more details on the problem. I was not able to reproduce the problem on my BR-864 by renaming S01:EMPTY001 to S01:TEST 001. When I selected S02:EMPTY002, then went back to S01, it was still named TEST 001 as expected.

Thanks for the reply, 64 Guitars.
I will save as you say but I thought that was for saving songs, not saving arrangements.  I will try it again to day and use that save method (It's 7am here and I'm not capable of Step 1, Step 2 stuff yet)

This is a new 1Gb card so there is nothing in Songs besides one that I must have done earlier.

Each of the SO1-5 Empty tracks has just a metronome beat playing which I didn't put it so must be standard.

With only one song on the card, I might reformat and start all over again.

I just put the original SD card back in and that had saved arrangements that I had made earlier.  This has me confused.

What extra information would help you understand the problem, 64 Guitars?

In the meantime, or at least after coffee and getting children dispatched, I'll try new arrangements and see if I really have a problem or this was a one off weirdo sort of thing (apologies to all you one off weirdos out there, no offense intended).
