Paul, you've outdone yourself with this fine composition. The overall production, combined with superb guitar and keys, is amazing and an absolute pleasure to listen to.

You rock!

Thanks for your comments.  I really appreciate them all.

I'm probably going to re-record the lead guitar at some point.  There are a few places where if you listen carefully there are some horrible clipping noises.  I didn't over-record anything volume-wise but I just couldn't get rid of it completely.  I tried different leads, different guitars, changed various batteries to no avail.  I was beginning to think it was my Vox Tonelab dying on me.  Then this morning I decided to try some servisol switch cleaner on a jack plug and spin it round in the inputs and outputs of the Vox.  Bingo - no horrible noises!  Must have just been a bit of crap in there somewhere.

I must just say that a couple of parts of this tune were inspired by people here.  The brass towards the end was inspired by Trev's rat-pack piece.  Farrell's guitar feedback on a recent piece of his led me to try to feign the same.  I couldn't do it properly since I don't own a guitar amp and, although the Vox box is not bad, you can't get feedback.  I played a synth note with a bit of vibrato and tried to mix it in - not particularly convincingly.  Perhaps I'll do it better next time.  And of course a few of you like the old cow-bell.....

Thanks again.

very nice playing reminiscent of Carlos Santana - love some of the melodies you have going here.

Nothing to criticize - it's an amazing proggy-blues workout!

You're aces on the guitar, man! Feedback was pretty convincing - if you hadn't mentioned the keyboard trick, I would have thought it was a feedback loop alright. Keys and arrangement are superb.
