This is a song to remember all those great acts I saw in San Francisco in those hazey dazey days of the late 60's and 70's. The over indulgence of lead guitar and feedback is intentional. It's my effort to capture some of the sound and style of that era. I'm playing an Epi Casino guitar with P90s through a cranked 5 watt x10" Crate V5 Combo amp

It was the summer of love.....it was a summer of fun

We swayed to the Airplane's plastic willows

and grooved to sounds of Surrealistic Pillow.

We listened from the very start

and let Janice take A Little Piece of our Hearts.

Peace and love was all the craze

and then we experienced Jimi's Purple Haze.

Da da da da, da da da da da.....Summer Days.

HI , DEFINATELY late 60 s feel to it. great stuff . great guitar
dont know if u know but i lived in SAN FRANCISCO for 10 yrs
from 1960 - 70 aprox. and definately lived all those filmore
days. where a concert would cost only 5dollars..janis joplin
whom i ssaw several tims. gave out free southern comfort
whiskey  to all in the audience. like toss the bottle. so this
definatley. brings back . those rockin memories..best

Love the guitar breaking up to feedback.  Bet you had to crank the volume to get that.  Did you depress the neighbours?

Thanks Paul! I had both the master and gain volumes on the amp and guitar maxed out so it would scream at me, lol. Fortunately it's just a 5 watt 10" speaker valve amp so none of the neighbors windows were broken out when I was having fun teasing the feedback out of it.

Thanks Neil! I do remember you mentioning living S.F. in the best of daze......that sure was a great time and scene to experience.....we are fortunate in that respect. The good thing is that we can still remember it so that means we didn't over indulge, lol!
