New BR 800-vz Sonar. help?

How does one get Sonar to recognize the BR 800?
I assume that's to get the BR to control Sonar
I got this far with the controller window

have you connected the BR, selecting CONTROL SURFACE under the USB menu?

In the SONAR Controller/Surface Settings dialog (the image you attached to your post), select "Mackie Control" (the last item in the list). See page 120 of the BR-800 Owner's Manual.
