This is a fairly new one that DrC and I wrote for our internet progressive rock group, Rayon Vert. It's called Road Rage and will go on cd #2.  To get the song to fit I had to render it to 128kbps Mp3 so the quality suffers a bit. Here's some info about the song:

Road Rage credits:
DrC - music idea, all keyboards, drum programming, and production/Mix/mastering.
Gary Garciello - all guitars.
Rob Grant - Bass guitar
Farrell Jackson - lyric, melody, and all vocals.

About the song:
This is a fast paced, prog rocker that DrC and I pulled together. The song contains some of the best DrC organ soloing I've heard in quite some time. Check it out! Gary's guitar work in this is excellent! I think it would even turn Richie Blackmore's head around. Rob keeps the song together with his always solid bass playing. There's nothing average about Rob's skills on the bass at all and he gets to shine some here! Farrell - What can I say about my vocal/melody  contributions? Well, I was challenged just to keep pace with this wild prog. rocker.

About the lyric:
I was reading in the local news that an older gentleman was dragged from his vehicle by a younger man and beat to death.....all because he didn't wait his turn at an intersection. This is a senseless and violent act that has no place in a civilized world. People seem to be angry all the time....I don't know if it's the state of world affairs, a bad economy, joblessness, or what but it stinks! So I wrote some words to put some focus on the problem....called Road Rage.

Sorry if I seem a little bold on this one but  I'm quite proud of my vocal work and the group's overall performances on this one. We hope you like it!

Hey Farrell , I think you've got yourself one he'll of a good song here mate , it's seriously rocks , and I definitely get a Jethro Tull vibe from it , considering you've had to knock the quality down to fit , it still sounds superb , I'm thinking this would not be out of place on any top bands CD , it's a winner thats for sure
By the way , one of my sons has the name Farren , am I right in saying both yours and his have Spanish roots

Excellent stuff

Yes, of course I like it!!!
Excellent production all round.
I can really hear Purple has influenced the musicians here. Especially listening to the organ and the guitar.
Prog bands usually tend to make me tired of constant change of rhythm and tempo but here everything was a lot more balanced and not over complicated.

Thanks

Thanks Rob, I'm glad you like it!

I also have a cousin named Farren. My name is a family pass down from my  great grandfather, to my father, to me, and now to my grandson. We've used it as the first name and sometimes as the middle name. I'm not sure about the name Farren but my name, Farrell, is from our Irish heritage. We've just changed it from to O'Farrell to Farrell.

Wow, more prog here, a bit different from other stuff of yours I have listened to, but as a bit of a prog lover I really enjoyed this. That keyboard playing reminds of Keith Emerson from the Nice era and very impressive. I like all the changes you have here, this is complex and compelling and I agree the vox are great!

Cheers,

Thanks Nick! I'm glad you like it. This is the pre-mastered version. The mastered version is waiting for the Rayon Vert cd #2 to be completed.
