Guitar sounds

I have two electric guitars (and already some of you are thinking "only 2"), a Strat copy and a 335 copy.  I am really happy with the Nashville effect for the strat copy (I switched the amp to the JC-120 and ditched the delay) but I can't find a sound for my 335.  I usually think of the sound array of my three amplified guitars as being 1. Strat, 2. 335, 3. acoustic archtop (with flatwounds - very straight up jazz), but I don't need the archtop with the Micro BR.  I need a sort of T-Bone Walker sound for the 335 and I'm not finding it so easy on the Micro BR.  It isn't hard to get straight from the 335 (I normally play through a Roland Microcube with just a wee bit of reverb) but I need help navigating the Micro BR effects.  Wise minds, please advise.

I have a 335 and I find it the most flexible guitar I have with the MBR, I play it the most. I also have a Strat copy and a Godin Solidac.

I suppose if you want the jazzy/bluesy sound use it with the neck pickup turned up more than the bridge with no MBR effect and a bit of reverb. It works for me.

Dear Flash Harry, or may I call you Flash?

Many thanks. That did the trick.  I never thought of switch the effects off (you just thought I was stupid, now you know I'm stupid).  Now I play with the reverb and I'm happy.

Do the amp and cabinet, etc., settings work when the effects are off?  I'm not picking up much of a difference.

I think the 335 (Suzuki, approx. 1979) is the most versatile of all guitars I own.  It's good to get to use it through the Micro BR.   Thanks, Egg Man.

You're welcome. I get Flash, Harry, Mike, baldy bloke. Any will do. It's the music that matters here.

If effects are off, then none of the settings work. You can modify the effects and you can save them.

You can turn off the amp modelling and the gain settings and just leave a cab setting so you can get a boxy feel if you need it.

64Guitars is the real guru on settings and adjustments. Try editting the effects and see how it goes.  It's such a powerful little box.

Thanks again.  I'm so happy with this little gadget.  You point me in a certain direction (mess with effects) and I switch the effects back on and alter them a bit and find a sound I like.  That's good enough but I do it without leaving the computer, that is, pick up guitar and plug into MBR and try it out.  I know you all know this but, like a lot of you, I'm sure, I've had a lot of wasted hours trying to get a good sound and convenient recording set up out of Garageband and the like.

This little box is winning me over, bigtime.  Thanks, Mr. Egg.

I have a 72 Custom Tele and the effects and sounds I can make are incredible.  The more you play with it the more sounds you'll find.

Hi There,

And happy new year to the whole community,

Does anyone know if it is posible to have an acoustic sound while pluggin an electric guitar ? I know that some pedal effects exist but I do not know about it on the Micro Br.

Thank you.

The BR-600, BR-900CD, etc. includes an Acoustic Guitar Simulator effect which works quite well. Unfortunately, this effect is not available in the Micro BR. But you might be able to tweak the EQ and Enhancer effects in the MIC bank to approximate the sound of an acoustic guitar with your electric.

The best way to get an acoustic guitar sound from an electric guitar is to have some piezo pickups installed in the bridge. Or buy an electric guitar that comes with piezos, such as some Godin guitars. I have a Godin xtSA which has a pretty good acoustic sound. I can further enhance it with the Acoustic Processor effect of my BR-864.
