It's a shame you didn't end up wanting to keep it. I did wonder when you first posted, as it had been made expressly for an individual's tastes, that you'd be lucky to find your tastes/needs coincided exactly once you'd had it for a while... That's partly what my "bit too bling for me" was about - I could see it was a bit of a looker (and I assume player, as well), but it was definitely built for a specific person's idea of "ultimate guitar" on the looks front (and it wasn't my idea of that!!  )

Good to hear that life's definitely looking on the up. Guitars and stuff do give us something, and can get us through things, maybe... but in the end they are actually just tools, and eventually they don't compare that much to the "real stuff" (whatever it might be for each of us) in our lives.

Great words Andy. The buyer backed out of the deal, so I'm taking it public to see what I can get for it. It does play as well as it looks. The tones it can generate are impeccable when a legit player is on it, I'm not that guy YET. You're right, it was a man's vision of the perfect guitar, I actually have my own version of that in the PRS. I'm gigging with an SG special though. I'm not wowing musical connoisseurs, I'm barely entertaining drunks.

That is such a true statement Tony! I seem to enjoy playing my cheapo OLP guitar way more than my expensive LP these days.

The ES 336 Custom is a real beauty! My LP Custom is also a natural finish with gold hardware...it's a striking combination.

certainly an interesting guitar.... i want it
