Here is my version with lead included. There is still a version in Collaborations without lead guitar, so anyone can jump in and hammer it. Be interesting to hear other takes on it.

Dear God-that solo was flawless. How the hell... Big props man.

Speed Demon

Thank you, Trotters.

Always get a good audience response when the band plays this one. An infectious pulse to it.

Speaking of infections, why hasn't someone written a song about necrotizing fasciitis? (flesh eating disease).
Seems like that ought to be a hot item on most people's Things To Avoid list.
There will always be the select few that actually enjoy it.

Oh well ........

Love this Gene, got my bad self down and boogied round my desk although getting my bad self up at my age is a bit of a problem. Top notch version. Do they qualify for the one hit wonders category or did any more of their music make the charts?...............Willie

Thank you, Vanncad, Willie.

Yes, Wild Cherry was a one hit wonder. They had their five minutes of fame then vanished with the wind. Probably did good playing local gigs, I imagine.

Great stuff Gene.  Nice solo.

Not so sure about the Necrotising Faciitis concept.  I'm not good with lyrics but I can't think of many words that rhyme... ;)

Paul, when it comes to unusual wording in a song, I try to make up new words. Even if they're not a perfect match, if they contribute to the song's storyline, it will work nicely.
Whatever lyrics are used should match the tempo of the song, or at least come back to tempo before the end of a verse.

I also employ this technique to some solos. I take the solo outside the song's tempo, but always bring it back to match before the end of the solo. Usually in a shredding section.

To me creating music is like having awesome sex. Think inside the box.
