It's hard doing a song already done by Jeff Buckley, so you'll have to try and forget that one and cut me a bit of slack!

This is me and my telecaster (with a bit of chorus).  The guitar has to be done in a single take, and it's hard to keep all the notes absolutely clean under that kind of pressure, so forgive the fluffed ones. I didn't hang around with the vocals either.

Basically, this is just a personal, honest version of this great song - warts and all.

Greeny

This song is number 1 and 2 in the UK charts. Jeff Buckley's version is at number 2, and the X-factor bint is at number 1. It's the first time in 51 years that the same song has been at number 1 and 2 ('Singing the Blues' by Guy Mitchell and Tommy Steele).

It's nice Christmas bonus for Mr Cohen!

Tim, brilliant.

You should release this and we'd have 1,2,3 in the charts.....

Whoa, I feel your pain about having to get the guitar done in one take, I'm finding it near impossible. I just bought my Micro BR yesterday ready for Christmas and I'm working on a Cover of Hallelujah for my Girlfriend seeing its her favorite song. Any tips for a beginner on the BR?

Btw, I'm new here, this is my first post  :) Hi

This song really does pack a whallop of emotion... because of the way that it was written and with this masterful rendering by Tim.  The solo voice and guitar are working off of each other so well. As good as anybodys version I've heard.  Yes, it's a pearl!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

I just noticed.....

Damian Rice takes alot of influence from this tune.......
