i've been writing a bunch of stuff lately, and i've been writing as if no one will ever hear my songs.  I feel if you get into a mindset like that, it brings out creativity because you no longer worry about being judged.

Anyways out of the bunch of songs, i actually liked the sound of this one.  I stopped doing professional demo's because all my songs are works in progress anyways, and i don't want to spend a great deal on recording.  This was recorded with a cheap acoustic, and the Imac microphone.

If you've heard my stuff before, you know i'm not one to do very poetic lyrics.  I'm more into the vibe and sound of a song.

yep.  I wish i was better at arranging stuff like that.  But now i tend to just keep the songs mostly guitar & vocal, so that i can get the basic idea across without potentially ruining it by adding instruments that don't fit.

Well, Rich, I'd say that far from not knowing anything, you've got the potential for some great writing based on this little toon. Y'know, most songs start off this way, guitar/voice, piano/voice, whatever. The guitar and voice are fine, so it's up to you how far you wanna push. Well done.

I like this and the acoustic based arrangement is something that I am moving more towards at the moment.  I always think that the measure of a good song is if you can just sit and play in on a guitar and it still sounds good.  You succeded in that.  And then some.
