earlier i did a live unplugged and bollock naked version of this song which was way out of my comfort zone.

https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=11786.0

this version is more in keeping with my usual method of doing things,  a bit at a time,  layer upon layer,  tho not many layers on this one, it is practically live, but all the parts where recorded seperately. does that make sense.
yes i have bin drinking.

anyway daniel johnston's song "impossible love" not live but still recorded in the living room.

Another cool take on it...I think you meshed a little melody from Biko on this. It's a totally different song now. This is good but the DJ vibe is gone and the Gabriel vibe has replaced it. Both versions are good, very different but I prefer the raw and naked version.

Oldrottenhead

gawd i only hear biko now ;D, peter gabriel must have ripped dj off, cos his was before pg's. i used exact chords from dj's version. :o

thats it exactly, yes, this is like Gabriel does DJ..........It seemed sorta familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it..............yes.  Nice joyful version...........but, if I could only have one, its the naked one for me.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Actually Jim...Impossible Love was from Rejected Unknown, 1999. So Biko predates it. But Daniel's song sounds nothing like Biko, only yours does.  ;)

Well, I didn't even know the song before you covered it twice.  :)

For this version, if I hadn't heard the previous, I wouldn't have known it was a Daniel Johnston song (I don't know as much of his work as I should, for shame...  ::) ), but to me it does sound like an orh song. Great production, with your expected croon and synth work.

Your LiTLR version was different and great, but I was really struck by your guitar playing. Maybe not perfect (whose is?), but great tone and confident delivery. You should play guitar more in your songs, Jim!
