this is a rough demo of a new song i'm working on.  I just wanted to test out this new guitar software i got.

Don't Ignore Me Now

Can you please tell me where to go from here?
Cause I seem to have lost my way to your heart.
I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere
This roads been nothing but long, cold, and dark

Are you going to help me?
Are you even listening?

Don't ignore me now
Not when I need you here the most
We broke apart somehow
It can't be like this no more.

you seem to  know exactly how I feel
So why can't  you just  open up to me
I'm not playing games I'm being real
But you make me feel like I'm  nobody

Can you even hear me?
Are you even listening?

so far i've had a mixed bag of different replies from different places.  Which makes me realize that i should take every comment with a grain of salt.

I've even had one guy tell me he hated the song, and that i should dump it.  I always felt that if i worked with a good producer, someone who knew what type of instruments, or what type of arrangement was needed for a song, i'd be better off.  Where i stand now, I suck with that kind of stuff.

Greeny

I like the song very much. It has legs. That's to say, it more than deserves to be worked up into a 'full' production. Anyone who says they hate it is either an idiot, or just being controversial for the sake of it. Their problem, not yours.

OK - constructive suggestions. I'm no expert, so I can only tell you what I'd do. I think the intro and verse would be better on an acoustic guitar, imo. An acoustic guitar and your great voice are all you need here. When it gets to the bridge (Are you going to help me?), I'd start adding a little bass / extra guitar, then hit the chorus with full drums etc. Make that chorus BIG sounding. You can then keep the full production going through verse 2 and onwards. And man - that's one f*cking kick-ass solo! I seriously wish I could play a tenth as good as that.

You'll know when it sounds right!

Hi Rich, like Greeny I think it's a very good song with a very tasty piece of lead work at the end. Unfortunately unlike Tim my production work is pretty crap so I wouldn't presume to advise. My only thoughts are to try and produce what you have in your head or get as close as you can with the equipment you have.............willie

Nothing wrong with this song as far as I'm concerned.  If it were mine I would bring in drums & bass guitar, and get really heavy towards the end, perhaps adding some meaty distorted guitar riffs under the solo - which was very tidy by the way.

Look forward to hearing what you do with it.

The guitars sound great. Very warm sounds to both the clean and the distorted guitar. What SW are you using?

And the song is really good !

As for the arrangement I agree with what Greeny said. It can also work with an acoustic arrangement I think.

Excellent song writing! Good voice, good rhythm and fatastic solo at the end! You've got a great base for additional instruments and production. You've already gotten some good suggestions on the production end but at a minumum you should add bass, drums, and some harmony vocals at the chorus. Again, excellent song!
