I Ate My Xanadu

ADDENDUM TO THE INCIDENT REPORT

It's burning.
Nothing else matters.

Nothing.

It's burning and I love it.

It's so clear
what is illusion and what is real.

I love the clarity.
I could drink it.
I could eat it.
I could breathe it.
I could make love to it.

So I burned it all to cinder.

My skin is hot.
Ashes float in an apparently random pattern.

But nothing is random.

I'm such a hungry man.

What have I gained?
I've traded matter for energy.

Where will I go?
Anywhere I want.

What have I lost?
Nothing that was ever real.

Thanks for listening!

You keep getting better and better.  This is a great piece of work.  Love the sparse understated arrangement and the existential lyrics.  And the crescendo is beautifully judged. Still a big fan.

Time to get all fuzzy.......damn what a crazy cool track.  That ending just about knocked me back in my chair.  And, yes, fantastic lyrics.

This is cool!!!    Your poetic / musical style is growing on me ... you got
a really cool original style ... and those guitars slamming in are excellent!!!
... too short ... gotta listen again ... dig your rhythms too.

Thanks!
The original thought was that I was trying to make a drum beat on guitar strings.

Excellent stuff - you make the simple so complex and deep! Love that rhythmic guitar and the little trills, it works so well. And the extra guitars at the end are superlative, great dynamics. Great lyrics as always. Killer.
