Here's a little thing I threw together today.

Its mostly a I IV V in G with a 3 1/2 minute lead break over the top.  I'm playing a strat through the VO Comp effect into the MBR.  It sounds a bit 1960s brit pop.

Both the rhythm and the lead are almost one take each  - you can hear the authentic mistakes.  I had to redo the ending because I needed to tidy that up and close it off.

I also managed to get the drums to do something interesting which I have realised is half about knowing how to operate the MBR and half about knowing how to pace the music.  Not perfect but OK.

I guess that just about all of us can do this kind of stuff but I put it up here as a bit of a marker for how my playing is progressing.

Cheers,

Ian

Thanks Guys

Yes I stole some of the chords from Louie Louie but they are also the same chords as Wild Thing.  Everyone uses them!!!  :)  They are probably the chords that every one first learns on the guitar.

I just listened to this again and it reminded me of the "Sacred Cowboys" from an episoide of Get Smart.   Anyone remember that one????

I'm learning how to play slide guitar right now.  Hopefully, the next iteration of a jam like this will include some "one string" slide technique as well.  I'm also playing with some lyrics, so perhaps a some might emerge?  I hope so.

cheers,

Ian
