Sometimes the only way I can get through tough times is to put everything into writing and recording a song that makes me feel like I've accomplished something. Wrote and recorded at 2am while depressed and a bit drunk at my apartment.

You need to get out more.

Interesting song though. there can be a lot of melancholy here. Try listening to Bury me in Blue Grass. There's depression for you.

Nice post.

i agree Mike,interesting song.
would like to hear it with just clean guitar only.
it would also sound good with some soft bass sounding like a metronome in the background.
and if the sun should fail to rise against my
shoulders one last time...

How are you doing that weird, fizzy rhythm? Very different. I like the feel of this song very much. You really caught that 2am darkness and desperation well. And you're right - stick it all into a song, and make a positive out of a negative  :)

Thanks for the feedback! I get the weird rhythem with my Korg ES-1 sampler. It has an effect called the "Decimator" that kinda turns the drum samples into low-fi noise.  ;D  I have a MicroKORG synth that I like using the arpeggiator on to get rhythmic bass so I'll have to utilize that more or actually play my bass behind the guitar. Thank you for your suggestions - I'll give them a try. If you want to add some modifications, I'll upload a .BR file or something with just the guitar and vocals if you like. :)

For spacey rhythms on the Micro BR, you can set the effects insertion point to RHYTHM (see pages 64 and 65 of the Micro BR manual) to apply the insert effects to the drums. You can create some interesting sounds with a bit of experimentation.

Flipping hell! I never knew that!

Thanks, 64Guitars. That's a brilliant tip  :)

I like the song.  Vocals are interesting, good.  Got to go look for that decimator  on the Korg now...
