great list man, I love that Fleet Foxes one, I put that at #1 for me, so far.  I need to check out the Artic monkeys =, haven't heard that one yet.  I am not fully there on the Radiohead one yet, it is a grower, and it is still growing for me.......but that Helpness Blues, hot damn thats good.

Honestly, the best album I've heard this year is

Rainy Day Happy by Able Giant

I will try to come up with 4 more by the end of the day.

QuoteThe sum total of the song cycle suggests a macabre version of the Kinks' "Village Green Preservation Society," though despite the appearance of Music Hall tropes and theatrical flourishes, Harvey manages to avoid cliche at every turn. "Let England Shake" is a record steeped in the past, but Harvey is clearly singing about (and to) the present. It's a strange and often unsettling collection, but buried deep within it is the most fully formed musical statement Harvey has offered the world to date.

Not too much that stuck out to me this year so far...

I would have to say...
1. Thank You, Happy Birthday by Cage the Elephant
2. Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes by Social Distortion
3. Wasting Light by Foo Fighters
4. The Fall by Gorillaz
5. Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by Black Stone Cherry

Though I wouldn't be surprised if any one of these to get knocked off by anything else that grabs me.

FuzzFace

There is my forthcoming album, if I ever get it done... with the invaluable contributions of my fellow collaborators of course!

i think it was released this year, but 'The World Is Yours' by Motorhead is on in the taxi right now...

yep, 'Rome' by Dangermouse and Daniele Luppi

erm, I don't know what the album is called without gettin' up and having a look, and I ain't doin' that for nobody, but I implore y'all to check out a fine young 'un called Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo, 'specially a song called 'Pause'....

I do like a bit of Bon Iver

and who could pass up on King Creosote??
