Just acoustic guitar and (lots of) vocals on the MBR, with a touch of Audacity-added sound fx.

This was largely inspired by sitting in Mike's conservatory, singing and playing away with Geir, Tharek, and James (in a rocking chair!). Nobody had slippers on though  :D

Anyway, it's about being old and in an Old Folk home ('Folk' as in the music genre), but still wanting to make music.

It's for all of us on here. A hopeful song about being songcrafters right to the very end. May it never stop!  :)

For some reason, I've come over all unplugged recently...  :D

LYRICS:

Sat in the dayroom in brown easy chairs
With lecherous memories hung in the air
We may be dying
But boy are we trying
To remember the words

Sun on the lino
And fat sleepy flies
Lost and forgotten just the spark in our eyes
To remind us we're breathing
Believing that we can remember the words

Do-lally-lally-lally-lee
Do-lally-lally-lally-lay

We may have lost our marbles
We may have lost our bones
But we're still singing our songs
In the old folk home

Another classic Greeny here. This is ace. Bigtime folk feel and with your trademark beatles sound and feel. As much as i listened to them, i wish more had rubbed off on me.

You have a great ear for melody Tim...this is a smooth sail and reminds of a "drinking song". Maybe it was the company you were keeping! I can see it being sung in unison by  a few mates with beer glasses held high.

Harmonies are excellent as are the lyrics (except you forgot to include them for us hearing impaired) Actually in this folky format i could here most all of them.

You are one hell of a good songwriter and performer Mr Green.

You've struck a goldmine here, Tim! Songwriting of the highest order, and perfect delivery. The two track acoustic and vocals/harmonies were candy to my ears.

You the man!!

For a moment, I almost shit my pants. I thought it was Monday again.

Tim utterly sublime. After hearing this song, everything's right in the world again. Incredible song writing, and the performance is simply divine. You definitely hit all the marks with the goal of this song.

Lol. I caught a bit of James' inner puppy and felt compelled to post it!

p.s. I slipped the expression doolally into the lyric, and it comes from here:

"Gone Doolally", "doolally tap", or "doodle alley" - a phrase meaning to 'lose ones mind', derived from the boredom felt at the Deolali British Army transit camp [In India]. 'Tap' may refer to the Urdu word tap a malarial fever, therefore doolally tap refers to 'camp fever'.

That's an inspired bit of songwriting there, Mr. Green.

Terrific vocals and acoustic sounds, and a genuine 'live' feel about it :) - love it!
