there where white and black ones mark, i'm just not sure what they are called when they are all joined together. my head works linear in music as in up and down a keyboard, i could never in a million years do what tony has just done and do the same chords on a guitar. i am continually amazed when i meet up with guitarsts a few on here included and pick up a guitar say a letter and then play that letter and other guitarists in the room know what they mean. its like they speak a mystical magical language to me.

my main problem with the guitar is that all the strings are tuned differently so that really messes up with my linear keyboard head.

As my pappy used to say, if it smells like shit, flip it over.

In your case, you might have to flip the guitar 90 degrees and it'll be more clear.

if the guitar had one big long string but you could play more than one note at a time it would be perfect for me

I wonder if everyone goes through a similar process, or do the chords just jump out at you seasoned guys?

If you know the chords I'm struggling to find (and you actually read this thread) try not to clue me in to what they are, I need to work them out for myself.

whenever in doubt, just play a P-minor chord !!!
