Mismatched Socks

I'm going to start a blog, and this song is going to be the title of it. Got up early this morning to begin a writing regimen. I'm a high school journalism teacher, off for the summer, figured I'd invest some time in my own writing (besides songwriting). Eventually, I'd like to crank out some articles and essays for publication, some short stories (that might even weave their way into a novel).
But of course I'm tooling around online before I begin any real work.
Some of my songs get written and recorded and forgotten about - this is one I keep returning to. The narrator is based on my daughter. Her unique take on life is one I hope she never loses.

Lovely playing and vocals. Keeping it simple was certainly the right way to go on this. And those panned, bluegrass-style licks are a total delight. Fantastic composition and performance.

p.s. I just buy plain black socks, so I can't tell if they're mismatched or not, lol.

Love this tune!! I think the secret behind mismatched socks are due to the evil Golden/Black/Chocolate Labrador Retrievers that grab all the dirty ones and the occasional pair of underwear before they even make the wash. That's why you can't find them in the dryer. The next step is to find out where they put the damn things. And why they want to knaw on a stinky old sock is beyond me...
