Hi Guys,

Anybody out there compared the micros phrase training facility with the mp-gt1 (Tascam mps version).

I am finding it hard to find pros and cons of both units. someone out there must have used both.

Cheers for the help.

I really never used both but I know that MP-GT1 is a stand alone trainer, fully dedicated to those features, so I think it must be better than Micro BR.

You can hear sound samples of the Micro BR phrase training features, here.

Maybe someone who used both can give a better insight.

But I think that for more $80 or something you would be far better of with Micro BR. It can do a lot more things.

I was trying to decide on mp-bt1 (tascam for bass) but hell all I can do there is to play over mp3... or practice little phrases, no way i can record 5 minute backing track solo my ass over then go back and find the best parts learn them etc... Micro Br trainer is good enough to train. It slows tracks down with out pitch change... Of course audio looses some quality when its 50% of the speed.. but hell are you training or what? $30 dollars + so many features. Beside that I've heard that pandora's fx are better than tascam bt, so i would assume that micro br does not loose that much in fx.

The br is certainly a good value-I like the guitar effects very much

Micro BR trainer is pretty good, I've been using it recently. I've been using it mainly to speed up songs to have a laugh. It is so funny, it speeds up the tempo but not the pitch and it sounds pretty good, ahaha. One song that sounds very funny is Nirvana - Lithium, the part " I miss you I'm not gonna crack" its just hillarious.

Overall the slowing down or speeding up feature is very well accomplished. I've been comparing the speeding up results with Adobe Audition Time Stretch and its actually a bit better.
