Yes, I was laughing, but as the end approached, I began thinking I might actually want one of these to keep my Stylophone company:  ;D

(note: it's all in Japanese, except for the, ahem, 'music')

Seems like it would be awfully hard to play in tune (as the presenter clearly demonstrated) since the pitch varies continuously depending on where you touch it. Theramins have the same problem. How do you know exactly where to place your hand in relation to the theramin to get the precise pitch you want?

Other than that, it looks like it would be fun to play with. I didn't understand the purpose of the top piece though. At first, I thought it was a mouthpiece that you'd blow into to initiate or alter the sound. But I didn't see him use it in the demonstration so I'm not sure if that's its purpose. Maybe it's just a decoration to make it look like a quaver.

It's secondary function is as a bong.

The last bit reminded me of Mariah Carey doing the national anthem.

I want one too

At one point towards the end he almost gets it to sound like a violin, that is the part that intrigued me.  Imagine running this out through guitar effects into a guitar amp. I bet that would sound wild, wild, wild.............I wonder if it even has a headphone/line out?
