Dion (Dion Francis DiMucci) one of the more underrated vocalist/musician/songwriters in my humble opinion.  About ten years ago, a friend introduced me to some of his bluesier material, much of it written by Dion.  His vocal are always "out front".  This cover did him justice for sure.
"Honest honey, this is the last guitar I'll ever buy"

I have to admit, the only version I am familiar with is Fagen's cover on the Nightfly - I have never heard the original version.

Yours was a recording/performance to be proud of.  Everything just fits; both the music and the mix.

I'm a big fan of the Donald Fagen cover of this. It's a Leiber-Stoller song, and those boys have written a few classic in their time! This has a great swing and swagger to it. Highly accomplished stuff in every department, and a great fun listen. As you say, it's perfect bar band material. Really, really great stuff.

This really is a beaut. I was playing around with this song this morning - listening to this again has kind of put me off though, lol. A real killer performance and arrangement.
