All critics welcome.  Note that the song was a lot longer (all lyrics posted) but had to cut some verses out for size.  Some known edit flubs present.  :-\   Lead kicks in about 2:15  ;D

BTW, I didn't write this to enflame anyone, only maybe open some minds to the grand scheme of the universe.  :)
Please don't take me too seriously!  :D

"Sci-ligious" (c) Ken J Hill 2011
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some say that no one knows   -   what tomorrow will bring
But if you look around you will see   -   they don't know a thing
---
They sell their doom & gloom to you   -   but I don't think it's true
The sun will rise, the birds will sing   -   the sky will still be blue
---
---
Those who want your fear of God   -   will have you bow and pray
Then raise their hands & hold the plate-   and expect you all to pay
---
The Lord created rules of science    -   along with curiousity
Only man designed religious laws   -   as well as the hyprocricy
---
---
We're told we should not question God-   but hear what he has to say
Earth's been around for a billion years   -   so what is one more day?
---
If God can make this world of ours   -   with all it's miracles
I doubt that he would end your soul   -   because you're not spiritual
---
---
There's been so many that have died   -   for his name in vain
Why then would he lie to us      -   and leave his world in pain
---
Keep the faith they always say   -   never doubt his plan
But curiosity is his gift      -   to each and every man
---
---
To waste his gift is surely wrong   -   no better than the beasts
To blindly follow man in robe      -   because he's called a priest
---
The lord I know is a caring God   -   who treasures all he's done
And I am sure He guides us true   -   so we won't burn in the sun

Science - Reliance - - Religious -  Compliance
Actual - Factual - - Mythical - Fictional
---
Depends on what you hear - - There is no need to fear
Both have their place - - Except when in your face

Hi, yep, nothing like a bit of religion to agitate the senses. Subject matter aside, this is a good song and it seems to me that your vocals just get better every time you record and the playing is always a joy to listen to. As in all things I try to keep an open mind and this songs subject is no different. I'm sure there will be other members who have stronger opinions on the subject, but for me, I just listen to the music which is great............Willie

Wow... what lyrics... this is a very bold subject. Very well delivered... very listenable as all of your songs are. I'm sure many can relate to this song in some shape or fashion... I've been told for years that is what makes a great tune. Great tune.

The last time I made a statement regarding religion and forum...... it didn't pan out so well, and turned to shit pretty quick.

I'll stick with this.... I REALLY DIG THE MUSIC!

Nobody mentioned the solo - Slick and punctual at the same time, very cool. Reminds me of the Phish jams.

Great tune, Ken!
