Hi all, not an original idea but maybe a different treatment. Just supposing that your're cruising the net and you find (by chance) an adult site called Readers Wives. To your surprise there is your wife/partner as this months "Star Wife". Could be a bit of a shock!!!!!  I'm trying to persist with tha accoustic so there's a bit a buzz and strange pings that I hope doesn't detract too much............Willie

Words

I'm staring at my screen
Can't believe I've seen it
But it must be you
I just can't concieve it
I can't believe you do these things
Just to hurt me so it seems

When I'm at work I trusted you
With everything you do
My head won't go around
All these things I've found
Ain't no doubt you've wrecked our lives
Now you're a star on readers wives

Chorus

Just goes to show yer
Can't trust you nowhere
You're messing up our lives
Now you're a star of readers wives

Wallpaper is the same
Your hair is rearranged
The make-up is a different hue
There ain't no doubt it's you
I know you don't need money again
I thought you loved me honey again

Indeed a sad song and well presented.  Nice and mellow acoustic approach that truly conveys the delicate feelings one would go through in an experience like this.

Novel lyrical idea.

It is a sad song.

Isn't it interesting that we all expected it to be funny, from the introduction?

Think about how many situations are like that: Comic when when observed from a distance, but really not funny at all if you or someone you know is involved.

I think someone needs to write a song about someone who had an anvil fall on his head, and how tragic that would be.

Nicely done, Willie.

Definitely a sad song, and I totally agree that it brings out the personal touch on something that most of us would laugh at hearing it on the news or on the net. In fact I think it makes it that much more personal. The vox and emotion really makes me wonder if this isn't inspired by personal experience, but I'd be afraid to find out for sure.

I liked the guitars just fine and as I said the vox was superb.

Hi all and thank you. I do apologise for the crap production, I may even re-edit at a later date. Please be assured that this is only a song and not taken from any personal experience and if it were, we're so old now it would be "Readers Grannies". Cheers..............Willie

Do I dare say Knopfleresque! While this is a sad song it's great and worth the revisit to a more polished product. I love it!
