Wow... this is one heck of a song. What a topic too. Never thought a Kite song could rock so damn hard... Unless of course it was Jamimas Kite. Farrell can you explain some of your recording techniques... was this a studio recording??? Did you use a MBR??? How ever it was done.... it's pro all the way. Hat's off.

Thanks Rata-tat-tat! This is a home recording done at more than one home studio but all the tracks were gathered up and mixed in one place.  No MBR, I record to a Fostex VF160 standalone DAW. I master on my PC using a program called HarBal (harmonic balancing) and Audacity. On this there are some internet bandmates that contributed tracks such as keys, drums, bass.

I should clarify. In additon to my solo work, I belong to an internet group of 4 songwriters called Rayon Vert. We do mostly classic progressive rock but I'm not posting up the group's songs here. My role in the group is the lyricist, melody maker, all vocals, harmonica, acoustic and some limited electric guitar. I'm posting this song because although it has some of the same RV players it's not a Rayon Vert group song.  I'm more heavliy involved in the creation, performance, and recording/mix mastering of this song. That's about it.

Thanks I'm glad you like it! Farrell

Thanks for the heads up oldrottenhead! I'm not familar with starcastle. I'll have to look it up. As soon as I figure out how to, I will post a link to Rayon Vert's music. In RV the electric lead solo work is done by Gary Carciello. He's a much better guitar player then I. Gary is still in his forties so his mind and fingers are still very nimble.

Starcastle is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The song Lady Of The Lake was a real pleasue for these old prog rock ears to hear. I can't believe I've never heard of these guys! They are in the same vain as 70's Yes and Gentle Giant.

Thanks for posting it up!
