the music to this was original posted as reflections by witchita (tony)  see here http://microrecorders.org/community/post-your-work/reflection-(own-composition)/0/ tony sent me the track without lead guitar so i could do a vox/lyric,

i found it quite difficult as backing track  didnt vary much, so after seeking tony's permission, i imported the track into cubase and pitch shifted a couple of parts to break it up.

i then dug out a lyric i wrote a week or two ago,(remember i asked for music in another post?) sang it over backing, sent it to tony he put some lead guitar back on.

i wasnt happy with my vocals on 1st take so got tony to send lead guitar and  i imported it into the song, and this helped me with cues for vocal timing.

but here is what is now called "hold it together"

here are the lyrics.

you're at the centre of the storm
standing firm
remaining strong
you're in control
but for how long
can you hold it together
hold it together
can you hold it together

you don't go in for fear or flight
you stand your ground
because it's right
can you get through another night
can you hold it together

but only when you're on your own
can you let the tears come flooding out
curled up in a little ball
alone
with all your fears
and doubts

with arms outstretched you give support
cause only you
can hold the fort
how long do you think
you can steer this course
can you hold it together

but only when you're on your own
can you let the tears come flooding out
curled up in a little ball
alone
with all your fears
and doubts

and when it all comes crashing down
you've lost your way
and run aground
who's gonna wear your crown of thorns
who's gonna hold it together
who's gonna hold it together

James asked me for a little bit of guitar to fill in around the vocal.
i done a few takes but none of them sounded ok so i opted for a swell pedal.
this is the final result.

The extra fills really do finish this track off beautifully. This is a sublime track, I hope you're posting it chaps, ah, you already have!

Brilliant stuff.

I had a tinker about - rather tentatively considering the company.
I thought this might benefit from some very simple bass.

I sent a earlier stab to ORH and Witchita for comment, and encouraged by these two fine gentlemen, I submit my contribution to this rather splendid project.

Cheers
