Hi everybody, how are you doing?
First of all, I'd like to say congratulations for this community and also thank you very much, I've been learning a lot in here.
I'd like some help with my Line 6 Floor Pod, when I plug it and combine its effects with the Micro BR's one it works great, but when I turn off the Micro BR's effects, the sound that comes from the Floor Pod only is very low and it doesn't sound that good. Does anyone know what I should do to have it working properly? Thank you very much for any help.

Welcome Dora,

First of all, those Line 6 Pods are pretty freaking cool to work with. My question for you is what INPUT are you using to connect it to the MBR. I would not suggest using the Guitar effects on the MBR together with the Line6's effects unless you are not using any effects on the Line6 and prefer the MBR's. (did that make sense?)

If there is a line out (1/8" ) on the POD, then use that and select the LINE input on the MBR. The MBR will default to recording a stereo track which i think sounds better. Make sure you adjust the Sensitivity and Level input for max sound without clipping.

Regardless of how you plug it in, it should work so I have no good answer for why you get low signal with the effects turned off. My best guess is that with the effects on, there is an Input Gain increase that doesnt happen when it's off. If this is the case, then you just have to up the Level setting and/or the Sensitivity setting on the INPUT menu. Check that first, along with the output level setting on the POD.

HOpe that helps.

Hi, thank you so much for your help hewhoiscalledj. Just to let you know that I did connected the floor pod from the headphones input to the line input of the micro br and it works great now (only when I play the "insane" amp model I get a lower signal, don't know why). thank a lot

Dora, I use a PodX3 quite a bit.  For mono, just connect the guitar 1/4" from the 'live out' jack to the guitar input on the BR.  For stereo, use the headphone out as you did.  Some of the effects are stereo, so you will want to take advantage of the two tracks.  For many cases, the stereo effect is minimal, so it is better to use the guitar out and only tie up one track on the BR.  The new X3 has many dual amp settings, so this is another case where the stereo option is better.

Many of the patches in the Pod are not volume levelled or they easily get bumped too loud or soft when editing.  To adjust the output level, you can change the amp settings (gain or tone volume & drive), plus there is a master volume.  Some of the effects also affect the volume quite a bit and some also have tone setting that can seemingly affect the percieved volume.  With some patch editing, you should be able to get a decent line-level signal with any patch.

I often disable the BR effects when using the Pod, but there are cases where adding a little reverb or a second delay is cool.  When using the BR effects, I plug in direct or run the Pod with just the pre-amp on.  This way I get a nice strong signal and can still use the volume pedal in the PodX3Live.

Regards,

Michael.

How do you go about that?

Click on the effects button. You then see ON:EDT:WRT:NAM. Click on track 1 button to toggle the effect off (and on). I just turn the effect off when using my Zoom G2.1U if I don't want the BR effect as well.

Cheers,

Nigel

Thanks Nigel.

While I'm here, I just picked up a Boss RC-2 Loop Station today. Any tips on getting it to work with the BR? Just a case of guitar in RC-2 > RC-2out into BR?

Any tips out there?
